Terms of Service

Billboard FC sells virtual advertising placements on a 3D stadium through auctions that run in rounds. These terms explain what you buy, when you pay, and what we expect of your creative. Last updated 15 September 2026.

Draft. The highlighted details are still to be filled in, in lib/site.ts. Have the text reviewed by a lawyer in your jurisdiction before accepting real payments.

1. Who we are

The service is operated by YOUR NAME OR COMPANY, ADDRESS, VAT number VAT NUMBER ("we", "us"). You can reach us at EMAIL.

Placements are sold through Stripe Managed Payments: Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd. for buyers in Europe, Stripe, Inc. elsewhere) is the reseller and merchant of record. When you pay for a placement the sale is made by Stripe, which issues the invoice, collects any applicable VAT or sales tax, and applies its own terms to the purchase. We provide the placement itself.

2. What the service is

Billboard FC is a website showing a virtual football stadium with 249 billboard positions ("spots"). A spot can display a brand name, a link and a creative (image, GIF or video). The stadium is digital content on this website only. It is not a real venue, not admission to any event, and it is not connected to any club, league or competition.

We do not promise any number of visitors, impressions, clicks or any commercial result. What you buy is the display of your creative on the spot you won, for the period described below.

3. Who may use it

You must be at least 18 years old and, if you bid on behalf of a company or a brand, authorised to do so. By bidding you confirm that you own or are allowed to use the brand name, website and creative you submit.

4. Bidding

  • Each spot has an opening bid shown on the site. A bid must be at least the opening bid, or at least $1 more than the current leading bid on that spot. Bids are whole US dollars.
  • Bidding is free and needs no payment details. Your brand appears on the spot as its leader straight away. You give us an email address so that we can send you the payment link if you win.
  • Anyone can outbid you. If that happens you owe nothing and may bid again at any time.
  • A bid is a binding offer to buy the placement at that price if you win. A leading bid cannot be withdrawn, but it lapses by itself as soon as someone outbids you.
  • We may remove a bid, and refuse further bids, from anyone who breaks section 6 or repeatedly wins without paying.

5. Winning, paying and display

  • When a round closes, the leading bid on each spot wins. We email the winner a payment link. Payment is made to Stripe, which sends the invoice.
  • The winner has 24 hours from the close of the round to pay. As soon as the payment is confirmed the creative goes on display, and stays there until the round that is open at that moment ends (up to 7 days). The exact end time is shown on the site.
  • If the winner does not pay in time, the offer passes to the next-highest bidder on that spot, who gets their own payment link and deadline. A winner who does not pay owes nothing but loses the placement.
  • Until a new winner has paid, the previous creative may stay on display. Once the new payment clears, or once no bidder is left to pay, the spot is updated.
  • Rounds may close a few hours after their scheduled end time. Display periods run from the moment of payment to the end of the round open at that time.
  • Prices are in US dollars and exclude VAT or sales tax, which Stripe adds at checkout where it applies.

6. Your creative

You are responsible for the brand name, link and creative you submit. You must not submit anything that:

  • is illegal, defamatory, hateful or harassing, or infringes anyone's rights, including trademarks and copyright;
  • is sexually explicit, or promotes violence, weapons, illegal drugs, gambling or scams, or is aimed at children;
  • links to malware, phishing or deceptive pages, or impersonates another person or brand;
  • contains malware or is built to disrupt the site.

We may remove or replace any creative that breaks these rules, or that we reasonably consider harmful to the site, without a refund.

By submitting a creative you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, resize, crop and store it in order to run the site, including in screenshots and previews of the stadium. You keep every other right.

7. Refunds

You pay only after you have won, and the placement starts as soon as the payment clears, so payments are not refundable. The exception is our own failure: if we do not display your creative for the period you paid for, we refund you in full or in proportion to the missing time, at our choice. Refunds are issued through Stripe. Nothing here limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law where it applies to you, and Stripe's Managed Payments terms apply to the purchase itself.

8. Availability and changes

We try to keep the site online but do not promise uninterrupted availability. We may change the stadium, the number and opening prices of spots, the length of a round and these terms. Changes to prices or rules apply to future rounds, never to a bid that is already leading or a placement already paid for. If we discontinue the service, placements already paid for are displayed until the end of their period or refunded in proportion to the missing time.

9. Liability

The service is provided as is. To the extent permitted by law we are not liable for indirect losses, lost profits or lost business, and our total liability for any placement is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

10. Personal data

We never see or store your card details. We store the brand name, website, creative and bid history you submit, which are public on the site, your email address, and the payment identifiers Stripe gives us. See the Privacy & Cookie Policy for the detail.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Italy. Disputes go to the courts of CITY, without prejudice to mandatory rules that give consumers a different forum.

12. Contact

Questions, takedown requests and billing issues: EMAIL.
